Nakajima was chosen as an ambassador for the Pippo Association in Denmark new
A Danish NPO group, Pippo Association in Aarhus Denmark has chosen Akiko Nakajima as their ambassador. To celebrate their 10th anniversary, an Italian opera gala concert will be held with Akiko as the host of the evening on the 10th December.

An obituary notice: Maestro Ubldo Gardini has died new
On the 24th November around 2pm, our most beloved maestro, Ubaldo Gardini died in Poggio Renatico, Italy. He was the inspiration for many musicians and taught many famous singers conductors including Kiri Te Kanawa, Jessye Norman and Renee Fleming. The funeral of late Maestro Ubaldo Gardini will be held in the central church of Poggio Renatico in Ferrara at 10am on the 3rd December.

Recital at the Mozarthaus Vienna
On 25th April 2012 Nakajima will perform Mozart songs in the course of soloist concerts at the Mozarthaus Vienna. The well known conductor and pianist Niels Muus will accompany her on the piano. Mozart composed his first songs already in his early childhood. This evening you can hear a selection of almost 30 songs, which Mozart composed during his stay in Vienna. For example, "Der Zauberer" (KV 472), "Das Veilchen" (KV 476), "Lied der Trennung" (KV 519) or "An Chloë" (KV 524).

For the season 2011-2012 of the "JT Art Hall Kammer Virtuosen Zyklus", Akiko Nakajima was invited again as a guest planner.
As the only vocal planner of the series, Nakajima's program has a blend of vocal and instrumental music that are creative and unique: "Nordic Romance - invention of nature" is the title of the concert. Nakajima has invited Kota Nagahara, one of the most exciting diverse violinists in Japan, the male quartet of TokyoPhilharmonic Chorus, the Danish conductor/pianist, Niels Muus for this occasion. Some of the highlights are famous songs by Edward Grieg, Johann Svendsen Romance for violin and piano and Jacob Gade's Tango Jalousie. The students of the faculty of Media Studies of Josai International University will join the musicians to create costumes, lighting in the motto of "invention of nature".

Nakajima will make her debut in the Czech Republic!
In July 2011, Akiko Nakajima makes her Czech debut at the recital at the chateau complex in Litomyšl in the Czech Republic, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
